Suburban Chicago, IL – 31 Dec 2009 – Midwest area photographer Richard Nagle of Night Owl Photography announces the first Night Owl Photography public art exhibit at the Kindred Spirits Intuative Arts Center, and in conjunction with the Fox River Academy of Music & Art’s public art exhibit.
Mr. Nagle travels the midwest photographing the nature and wildlife we have right in our own back yards. All of the photography featured in the exhibit has been captured within a few hours of the Chicagoland area. Mr. Nagle endeavors to capture the decisive moments in nature, that ensnare the heart and soul of those who view his work.
Kathy Stinson says “Rich is a fantastic photographer. I bought some of his eagle photos for my father’s birthday and he just loved them. He has a such great eye for detail. You will not be disappointed.”
Mr. Nagle’s photography varies in subject matter from American Bald Eagles on the hunt, to majestic fire sunsets, to dramatically gleamed plants and flora, to backyard birds and wildlife. His photographic eye was gifted to him through his parents and grandparents. Everyone in his family has the gift of art in some way. He learned photography on a completely manual 35mm SLR, and grew up in the darkroom with his father and 2 godfathers. They harnessed his gift, developed it, and then released him into the world, armed with a camera. It wasn’t until his mid 30’s, when he discovered the digital SLR that he rediscovered his gift and created Night Owl Photography.
The Night Owl Photography Art Exhibit will be held from 12PM – 6PM on Sunday January 17th, 2010 at Kindred Spirits Intuative Arts Center / 4025A Route 34, Oswego, IL 60543.

Richard Nagle is sole proprietor and owner of Night Owl Photography. Night Owl Photography is based in the far western suburbs of Chicagoland. Much of my photography is based on nature and wildlife in the midwest, however I also do portrait and event photography. I specialize in photographing the American Bald Eagle. Night Owl Photography can be located online at http://www.nightowlphotography.com/
Kindred Spirits Intuative Arts Center is a self discovery center developed to assist you in finding your truth, which is already within you. Through classes workshops or individual sessions, you can develop your skills and abilities and expand your understanding of who you are. Kindred Spirits can be found online at http://www.kindredspiritsevents.com/
I’ve created a couple of new videos with tips and tricks to help you with your bald eagle photography. One goes into some tips for focusing skills, and the other goes into the relationship between ISO, aperature, and shutter speed.
A little while ago I posted a blog regarding my American Bald Eagle Calendar 2010 that was going to be listed on Amazon. Today I found the link to the calendar! Hopefully this will provide it with more exposure. If you’re still looking for a nice Bald Eagle Calendar, you should check out the link and buy one.
American Art Glass Showroom is located at 605 East Ogden Avenue in Naperville, IL. Why am I blogging about this? Because Night Owl Photography has been asked by the American Art Glass Showroom to display my photographs in their showroom, along with other local artists! I have a single large print of an eagle at 24 x 36 displayed, as well as a variety of smaller 11 x 14’s. About 6 to 8 photos I think? There’s also feather and jewelry art from “The Naked Parrot” on display, and a couple of other artists too. Soon, I’ll be displaying even more photographs in yet another retail location. The Kindred Spirits Intuitive Arts Center in Oswego will have a few of my prints to display in their large log cabin meeting room soon. And in January, I’ll be a featured artist for the Fox River Academy of Music and Arts art show. (More info to come on these last two topics.)
American Art Glass is a business that creates custom window art for your home. Here is an example of some of their work. They also sell stained glass art in their retail showroom, and offer stained glass classes there in the evenings. It’s a neat little store with lots of stuff to see. You should go check it out! Tell them Night Owl sent you!
So today I got an email from the publishing company where I have my eagle calendar listed. It’s a service called Lulu (http://www.lulu.com/). They’ve chosen a select few calendars to list on Amazon, and my 2010 American Bald Eagle Calendar is one that was chosen! It’s not listed there yet, because they’re giving me a chance to opt out first if I choose to. As if?! NOT!!! How cool is that? I’m stoked! Here’s the link to my calendar on Lulu. I’ll post the link to Amazon when I get it.
I also got a phone call from the store owner who’s allowing me to display my photographs in her store in Naperville. She has them all hung, and so if you’re on Ogden Avenue in Naperville and you’d like to see them, stop into “The Glass Showroom / American Art Glass” at 605 E. Odgen Avenue #2, Naperville, IL 60563. Tell them that Night Owl Photography sent you. Their store is an interior design store for both “art glass” and “stained glass”. They can explain the difference if you’re curious. Here is their website with some examples of their work.
